Modefi. La bicicletta modulare che costruisci da solo

Modefi nasce dalla collaborazione dei designer americani Nicole Assini, Louise Goacher & Jane Neiswander per la Georgia Institute of Technology e si tratta di una bicicletta pensata per essere modulare e configurabile dall’utente.

Infatti sfruttando la moderna tecnologia della stampa 3D e speciali materiali plastici combinati con fibra di carbonio, è stato possibile ottenere questo risultato.

Gli utenti possono scegliere tra una vasta gamma di opzioni, soluzioni su misura del telaio e modifiche estetiche, creando una bici davvero unica, che si adatta perfettamente alle proprie esigenze. Inoltre, è possibile effettuare rapide regolazioni e riparazioni, considerando che Modefi continua a crescere insieme voi ed alle vostre esigenze, come in una continua evoluzione.

How can we improve the interactions among cyclists and those they share the road with? This led to the recognition of our main challenge: to create a bike that instills confidence in the user while riding.”

” We considered what the value of 3d printing would be within the context of the problem we were facing. It was important to us, from the start, to align our design within the realm of new material capabilities and innovations. 3d printing as a medium of manufacturing allows users to create on the spot adjustments both quickly and relatively inexpensively. It allows a level of customization that traditional manufacturing methods cannot support due to high tooling costs.”
