Mateusz Urbanowicz. Tokyo storefront #05 Miyake

Abbiamo già parlato qualche anno fa di Mateusz Urbanowicz, presentando il suo lavoro “BicycleBoy Illustration series” che ebbe molto successo anche al di fuori del Giappone.

Mateusz, nato nel 1986, attualmente lavora come creatore digitale (principalmente facendo arte dell’animazione) presso lo studio Comix Wave Films a Tokyo. Ha realizzato vari lavori di illustrazione per libri e fumetti e ha anche condotto numerosi corsi nell’uso di applicazioni Adobe e Corel con tavolette grafiche Wacom in collaborazione con WACOM Germany e Corel Poland.

Questo che vi presentiamo oggi è un bellissimo video che ci racconta passo passo tutte le fasi creative per la realizzazione dell’acquarello di questo negozio di biciclette, situato nel centro storico di Tokyo e facente parte del progetto artistico ” Tokyo Storefront illustration Series”.

” This illustration, fifth in the “Tokyo Storefront” series actually combines two interesting bicycle shops I found during my explorations of the city. One, already featured in the “Bicycle Boy” series is located at the Kagurazaka shopping street and the second one just a few minutes walk from Kichijyouji.
I really liked the shiny tiles on both that shops but decided to combine the blue foldable roof with the huge sign.
This time also I tried to keep the insides of the shop more vague and colourful with the glass mirroring the roof and sky. It was probably the most technically challenging piece prom the series thus far.”
