James Bay Descent. Bikepacking a -35° in Canada

The James Bay Descent, è il nome di questa spedizione invernale in bikepacking affrontata un anno fa da Ted King, Ryan Atkins, Eric Batty e Buck Millerper, che hanno percorso ben 600 km in 8 giorni nel nord dell’Ontario in Canada a temperature polari.

L’impegnativo itinerario su ghiaccio, che ha collegato Attawapiskat First Nation a Smooth Rock Falls, non era mai stato percorso prima in sella a delle biciclette. Una grande prova di determinazione e capacità fisica dei quattro componenti del team, che hanno dovuto affrontare le proibitive condizioni climatiche dell’inverno artico.

” We’re all done the James Bay Descent! 630k over 8 days of riding down the James Bay Winter Road and the Wetum Winter Road. Plans changed along the way, not everything happened the way we expected but we rolled with it, made appropriate changes and finished strong. We met some incredible people along the way too. We’ve raised nearly $7000 for the Timmins Native Friendship Centre Moosonee Office! We got to the Town of Smooth Rock Falls today after 78k in 3 hours 7 minutes to a great welcome by the Mayor and staff! “
